CD Review: Throwing Muses' Kristin Hersh Delivers "Wyatt At The Coyote Place"

Author/musician Kristin Hersh will be releasing her new 2CD/book set titled "Wyatt At The Coyote Place" on November 11th through Omnibus Press. Hersh is best known as a member of the rock band Throwing Muses and this will be her third CD-book format release.

Beginning with "Bright," you get a sense that Kristin Hersh has all these stories to tell and adds any type of music in the backdrop to invoke the right mood of her tale. You hang on her every word as her vocals have an aged, experienced tone to them in "Bubble Net,"  "Hemingway's Tell" and "August." The wonderful experimental folk/rock of "Wonderland" and the acoustic grunge of "Killing Two Birds" showcases Kristin's love for many different musical genres. She wraps you up with her vocals as in "American Copper" and "From The Plane" and excites the senses with the punk-like energy of "Sun Blown." The double-album finishes with the gentle, quiet tones of "Cooties," the acoustic, alternative rock of "Christmas Underground" and the six-minute grunge-like sound experiment of "Shotgun."
