CD Review: New Children's Music From Singer/Songwriters Vanessa Trien And Jennifer Paskow

One of the top musicians in the world of children's music is Vanessa Trien and along with her band The Jumping Monkeys, they will be releasing a new album on October 14th titled "Wonderful YOU." The new twelve-song release begins with the up-beat, harmony-filled "One Foot In Front Of The Other" as you are invited to march along to the song's rhythm. Vanessa's vocals "Shine" on this bright, positive song, while "Fireworks" paints the perfect picture with its fun lyrics. You can't help but feel like moving to the swinging rhythm of "Monkey Jump" and "Chi Chi Bom Bom," which features guest vocals and fiddle from Rani Arbo. A couple of the album's highlights are covers of Johnny Otis' song "Willie And The Hand Jive" and The Beatles' "All Together Now," which is always a welcome addition to any children's album. LA-based singer/songwriter Jennifer Paskow is releasing her new album "Make A Circle" on September 30th. It features "joyful, folk-pop songs that celebrate love, life and connection for children and their families." The new 11-song release begins with the island-vibe of the title song and Jennifer's warming vocals are a treat to listen to. The wonderfully pop tones of "The I Love You Song" are very addictive to all ages as you easily learn to sing-along. She sweeps you up with the swinging rhythm of "I Am" and connects with nature on the light-hearted feel of "I Am A Tree." Jennifer modernizes "This Little Light Of Mine" with her sweet vocals and upbeat tempo, before closing her new album with the gentle strumming of "Long Time Sun" and an acoustic version of "The I Love You Song," which gives the song a more folk quality.
