CD Review: Cindy Alexander Floats Through "Deep Waters" And Janey Street Finds "Paradise"

Award-winning artist Cindy Alexander will be releasing her new studio album titled "Deep Waters" on July 15th through Blue Elan Records. She will follow this with an album release party at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach, CA on July 17th. The new ten song release begins with the country rock of "Heaven's Wall" as Cindy lets her vocals fly. The words and music come together perfectly for "Fireball" as she continues to grow as an artist. Her voice is strong and emotional during the ballads "Path Of Least Resistance" and "Forever Bound" and does justice to her folk/rock cover of Jann Arden's "Good Mother." Cindy focuses her life challenges in the dark tones of "Push," before closing the album with trodding rhythm of "Relentlessly." New York native Janey Street recently released her Blue Elan Records debut album titled "My Side Of Paradise." The new thirteen song release combines brand new songs and songs from her EP "The Girl I Used To Know." She begins with the blues rock of "Among The Missing" as the lyrics draw upon her experiences. She finds the nostalgic tone of blues/rock with the rawness of "Good Side" and "House Of Mirrors," but sandwiched between is the soulfulness of "Bring It On." One of the highlights of the album is the stomp rhythm of "End" that allows Janey Street to let her vocals rip, before slowing down for the acoustics of "Grand Delusion." The album finishes with Janey stepping out of her comfort zone with the the funky "Scat Like Ella" and the piano ballad "End Of The Day."
