CD Review: Blinddog Smokin' Band Comes "High Steppin'" Through New Album

From Wyoming comes the new album from the blues/funk band Blinddog Smokin' entitled "High Steppin'." They were nominated last year for a Grammy Award for their 2014 blues album "Decisions" with Bobby Rush. There new album is set to be released on July 17th through Silver Talon Records and features nine, exciting new musical adventures to explore.
Beginning with the funk-filled groove of "Pimp Shoes," Blinddog Smokin' is sure to get your body moving. The sweet sound of horns amongst a seventies backdrop sets the stage for the rest of the album. They add a little New Orleans flavor to the blues sound of "Don't Put No Money On Me," while "Tell'em Shuffle" comes straight from the classic Chicago blues of the early 20th century. The great soul vocals of "If I Died Today" instills their passion right into your heart, before closing the album with the doo-wop feel of "Tell'em Reprise."
