CD Review: New Global Popularity Brings Out The First Two Albums From Momoiro Clover Z

Not many people in the U.S. have even heard of the Japanese pop band Momoiro Clover Z, that was until rock legends KISS collaborated with this five-piece girl group on their latest single, "Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina." Now with a new surge in growth in the group's popularity, the Cleopatra Records label is re-releasing their first two albums for the first time in the U.S.

Their music has a very attractive pop sound that becomes overwhelmingly contagious. Their albums have become huge sellers in Japan, both "Battle And Romance" and "5th Dimension" have debuted in the top 3 spots on the Oricon music chart. Even though the words to the songs are unrecognizable (unless you know Japanese) the music hits every addictive beat from dance pop to elaborative orchestration to hardcore electronic heavy metal. Their voices also have a innocent quality to them that allows the girls to harmonize very nicely and adds more punch to the vocals of the songs.
