The New Jersey brothers of Bon Jovi are celebrating thirty years in the music industry. To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Bon Jovi's debut album, Island/Universal Music will be launching a campaign, beginning today, July 1st with the release of the "Deluxe Edition" of Bon Jovi's second biggest selling album, "New Jersey." Originally released in 1988, the album spawned five "top 10" singles and was certified 7x platinum in the U.S.
The new "deluxe edition" features the original album, remastered with three bonus tracks tacked on to the end. The special thing about this album are the great, lesser known songs like "Wild Is The Wind" and "99 In The Shade," which really capture the feel of the late-eighties hair metal rock movement. Included are the two b-sides, "Love Is War" and the acoustic version of "Born To Be My Baby." The third bonus track is a cover of Thin Lizzy's "Boys Are Back In Town" as the band seem more loose when performing this cover song.
Disc 2 are where the treasures hide as it features the "Sons Of Beaches" demo versions of the songs for the "New Jersey" album. All of the songs on the second disc have never been released, officially, and shows a band at the height of their creativity with songs like the bluesy "Back Door To Heaven" and the hard rocking "Growing Up The Hard Way." One of the special songs on the second disc is Bon Jovi's recording of the Alice Cooper/Joan Jett penned song "House Of Fire," which was released on Cooper's 1989 album "Trash." Fans might be hitting replay on this disc, discovering all of these lost gems for the first time.
A "Super Deluxe Edition" was also released, which includes both CDs and a bonus DVD. The DVD features a 90-minute documentary of the band on the road in support of the "New Jersey" album. Also included on the DVD are seven music videos from the singles released from this album. To find out more about this exciting new release, please visit bonjovi.com/en/news.
