Book Review: Get Your Facts Straight With The 2014 World Almanac

One of the must have books that need to be in every household is "The World Almanac and Book of Facts 2014." By never having one before, I did not know what I was missing out on. This book contains over 1000 pages of facts and milestones the were captured in 2013, as well as a complete recap of the major events that happened in the nation between November 2012 to October 2013.

Some of my favorite sections are the "Surprising Facts," like how music LP sales have risen from one million copies sold in 2005 to over seven million copies in 2012. Another is the entertainment section that lists the top selling movies and albums from the past year and of all time. Singer Justin Timberlake, who graces the cover, had the top-selling album of the year, while "The Avengers" made their way into the records books. But that's not all, "The World Almanac" is broken down into ten sections that makes it easier to find that specific fact about sports, politics or health. Amongst the thin, black & white pages filled with facts are 16 pages of full color pictures portraying the year's highs and lows. The book also prepares you for the upcoming 2014 Winter Olympics by recalling some of the most memorable past Olympic events.

This book is the "bible" of world facts and has the most up-to-date information available to readers in hardcopy form. "The World Almanac And Book Of Facts 2014" was published back in November 2013 and is available everywhere, including an eBook edition. To find out more about this please visit worldalmanac.com.
