CD Review: Barbra Streisand Returns To Brooklyn With A Career Spanning Set

One of the most iconic, award-winning voices of the last fifty years recently released her eighth live album, "Back To Brooklyn." Barbra Streisand knows how to strike up an audience as she makes herself at home with her return to her hometown for this two-night stand in October 2012. The live album was released on November 25 through Columbia Records on CD and DVD and captures an artist that is a timeless as some of the all-time vocal greats.

As fans give their input on Streisand's career, the concert begins with the audience hanging on her every word during "As If We Never Said Goodbye." The two dozen tracks that make up the album are full of classics like "Didn't We" and "The Way We Were." Trumpeter Chris Botti joins her for truly exceptional versions of the songs "What'll I Do/My Funny Valentine" and "Evergreen." Streisand has no problem winning the crowd over with her introduction of songs as her son joins her for a duet of "How Deep Is The Ocean." She closes the show with the very heartfelt  ballad "Some Other Time."
