CD Review: Guitarist/Singer Jonny Lang Pours His "Soul" Into His New Album

Grammy-winning blues/rock/gospel guitarist/singer Jonny Lang is returning, after seven years, with a brand new studio album entitled "Fight For My Soul." The new release will be available on September 17th through Concord Records and was co-produced by Lang along with Tommy Sims (Eric Clapton).
The 11-song album just dives right into familiar territory with the guitar-driven blues-rock of "Blew Up (The House)." He experiments with his sound, throwing in some R&B beats on "Breakin' In" and on the pop-infused "What Are You Looking For." His voice and guitar shine on the epic sounding "The Truth," before hitting the funk groove of "River." He shows us the gentle side of his song-writing with the acoustic "All Of A Sudden" and the power ballad "Seasons" before Lang closes the album by pouring his heart and soul into "I'll Always Be."
Jonny Lang embarked on a five-month tour back in July and is making his way across the U.S., beginning on the west coast. For a complete list of tour dates and for more information on his new album "Fight For My Soul," please visit
