CD Review: AutoKratz Gives Us A Lesson In "Self Help"

London duo autoKratz recently released their follow-up to their 2009 album "Animal". The new album entitled "Self Help for Beginners" grows upon the success that the duo have been receiving.

The album's first single "Opposite of Love" was released as an EP and shows us the control these two have over their music and lyrics. The dance beat keeps the music fresh while the laid back vocals keep your interest. The band continues with the release of their second single "Becoming The Wraith" which features Peter Hook, bassist for New Order. Hook adds a little bit extra to the song's overall appeal in order to make it a sure-fire hit single. AutoKratz begin to experiment more with their sound on "Fireflies" adding a more spacey, atmospheric feeling to their music. The duo pick up the intensity on "Kick" which includes guitar from Andrew Innes of Primal Scream. The album finishes with the mellow tone of "My Own Black Heart" and the uplifting, pulsating beats of "R.I.S.E.".

AutoKratz have a few dates in Europe before heading to Japan in August. For song samples and free downloads, check out their website,
