CD Review: Madison Square Gardeners Show The "Teeth of Champions"

New Yorkers, The Madison Square Gardeners released their new EP earlier this year entitled "Teeth of Champions". It is the band's third EP in the last 12 months. The members of the band have worked with artists like Ben Kweller, Justin Townes Earle, The New York Dolls and Roseanne Cash, but have come together, bringing all their experiences to the table.

The EP leads-off with a Tom Petty-type swagger in "Little Bit Of Heart". The song's classic rock sound is nothing new, but the band uses it to grab your attention for the other songs on the album. The song "Record Store" is a little bit edgier, while "Innocent" brings back that classic 70's-style rock. The song "Stand By You" is your typical straight forward pop rock as the album closes with the power ballad "Miracle Mile" which builds to a hard-rocking finish.

The Madison Square Gardeners are touring behind Tim Easton for the next couple months. The tour includes a stop at the Oasis in New London, CT on July 1. Be sure to visit the band's website (themadisonsquaregardeners.com) for a full list of dates and more album information.
