CD Review: Abused Romance "Shine" Bright On New Album

LA rockers Abused Romance released their Freeway Records debut "Shine" earlier this year and are currently on tour with fellow rockers Egypt Central. The album's first single "Overcome" is on the verge of cracking the Top 40 Active Rock chart. The song switches tempos nicely while never losing the overall appeal of the song. A video for the song can be found here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlsTSak0h40).

The album is a definite contender for one of hard rock's best album's of the year. Meir Yaniv's vocals on "Hit and Run" and "Shine" become the main focus early on the album. The rhythm section of Aetam Jakob on bass and Roy Chen on drums is the motor behind all these songs, especially "Rise" and "Bleeding". Amit Ofir on guitar just blazes a path of fire during his solo in "Room 2238". The band slows the tempo down for a moment during "Shades of Grey" and "Amberlin", but brings the power and energy back in "Fly High".

Abused Romance will be performing July 3rd at Summerfest. Visit the band's website, abusedromance.com for tour dates and to be able to download their new album for free.
