The Beatles Unplugged

It was 40 years ago today (January 30, 1969) that The Beatles played their final live performance. While filming for "Let It Be" was finishing up, The Beatles wanted to end the film with a live show. They failed to agree on a location and settled for the rooftop of Apple's headquarters, 3 Savile Row. The Beatles, along with guest Billy Preston performed 5 songs: Get Back (three times), Don't Let Me Down (three times), I've Got A Feeling (twice), One After 909 (once) and Dig A Pony (once). The police would eventually arrive, after receiving complaints about the noise, and cut the power to The Beatles' instruments. The concert only lasted 42 minutes, but will go down in history as the last time all four members of The Beatles performed together live. The concert ended with John Lennon's famous line, "I'd like to thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we passed the audtion." Portions of this live show appear in the film "Let It Be".
